A strongly-contested renewal of the King's Stand, the number of top European sprinters waiting for the Golden Jubilee able to be counted on one hand, whilst 3 Australian challengers gave the field a truly international feel, and the southern hemisphere challenge carried off the prize for the second time in the last 4 years, like Choisir, Takeover Target showing high-class form as he defied a Group 1 penalty, giving weight all round; it was a rather messy contest (a bare time comparison with the Windsor Castle underlining as much), if anything favouring those soon prominent, though Dandy Man still deserves credit in doing most to make a race of it far side, those in stalls 1-18 coming stand side and, despite some trouble ensuing in that group early on, providing the others to fill the frame.
