A fair renewal, the Oaks form not represented directly and nothing able to bridge the gulf in terms of form between Alexandrova and most of the rest of the middle-distance 3-y-o fillies outside Galatee and Confidential Lady, but the first 2 showing near-smart form amid a number to improve on the day, Mont Etoile in particular; the pace slackened once the field had their positions, that making for a bunched finish, and the first 2 were among several that had little room at times in the straight, the winner quickening best from rear.
