A typical Britannia on paper, at least in terms of the field size and useful standard, though there were fewer progressive 3-y-os than the norm, and about two-thirds of the runners were well below form, including most of those that came over to the stand side from high draws, only Giganticus and Bonnie Prince Blue staying far side, a situation clearly influenced by the King's Stand and Hunt Cup; despite the early rush towards the near side, the pace wasn't that strong, even some of those drawn low caught out of their ground for the finish, while traffic trouble predictably ensued, too, and, as it went, the winner did remarkably well.
