The older miling division at present is much more muddling than that of the 3-y-os, opened up further with the season-ending injury to Creachadoir, and representative and international as this race was it did nothing to clear the waters, a pace that quickened only around halfway (Honoured Guest immediately led field over to stand rail) making for a bunched finish, the fourth and fifth 2 of those who finished with running left in them after finding trouble; needless to say, as with the Lockinge, the form came up some way short of what Henrythenavigator achieved later on the card.
