A fascinating renewal, with half a dozen fillies in the line-up having made the frame in either the English or Irish 1000 Guineas, or their European equivalents; therefore, even though Zarkava and Natagora, successful in France and England respectively, were notable absentees, there was more than enough strength in depth to suggest that the eventual victor, Lush Lashes, recorded a performance well up to standard; the pace was fair, increasing off the home turn.
