A third consecutive win in the race for Aidan O'Brien and another one-two in a Group 1 for him, also, as Rock of Gibraltar stretched his winning sequence at the highest level to 5, in the process accounting for the winners of the French, Italian and German Guineas; the form is high-class without being outstanding by St James's Palace standards, but the style of the success was impressive; a pacemaker took the field along for around 5f but the gallop wasn't breakneck by any means and that makes the winner's effort in cutting down the leaders even more praiseworthy.
