Those who finished behind the winner are a useful bunch who aren't really up to this level, but Free Wind still deserves plenty of credit for routing them as she did and she appeals as one of the best winners of the past decade; the gallop was fair at best.

FREE WIND (IRE) has come a long way in a short space of time, unlucky not to be unbeaten in 5 starts in a campaign that began 3 months ago, and took her form to another level with this wide-margin success, proving her stamina for this longer trip and hitting a rating that would have seen her in the shake-up for the places, at the very least, in the St Leger itself; chased leaders, tanked along, loomed up around 3f out, led around 2f out, quickened clear, easily; open to further progress and will be just as effective back around 1½m if aimed at the Fillies and Mares at Ascot on Champions' Day, but whilst she has earned a crack at a Group 1, that will require another step forward, whilst ground softer than good would be an unknown.

GOLDEN PASS wasted no time getting back to form, but stayed rather than improved for the longer trip, essentially adding weight to the idea that she's close to her ceiling; in touch, shaken up over 3f out, kept on, no match for winner.

YESYES may have come up short taking a step up in class but still emerged with credit, this at least on a par with the form of her listed success; close up, upsides early in straight, led under 3f out, headed 2f out, plugged on.

EILEENDOVER up in grade, ran as well as could be expected, confirming the form of her Newmarket success; mid-field, lost place after 2f, headway out wide home turn, pushed along 3f out, one paced; she's decidedly useful and should prove capable of picking up some black type before the season is out.

TRIBAL CRAFT easy to back but shaped better than the distance beaten suggests and, whilst she may not be quite as good as her heavy-ground second in the Lillie Langtry would suggest, she almost certainly remains in form; steadied at the start, in rear, smooth headway around 3f out, shaken up soon after and looked set to fare best of the rest under 2f out before weakening final 1f, passed by a couple of rivals whose measure she seemed to have taken.

URBAN ARTIST back on firmer ground, after 6 weeks off, wasn't in the same form as last time; led, joined early in straight, headed under 3f out, dropped away.

SAVE A FOREST (IRE) upped in trip, after 6 weeks off, proved to be a disappointment; waited with, took strong hold, effort early in straight, not quicken; she arrived on the up and is worth another chance to confirm the form of her Newmarket win, that effort backed up by the clock after all.

SILENCE PLEASE (IRE) followed a below-par effort with an even worse one, beaten before the longer trip became an issue; mid-division, switched under 3f out, not quicken.
