has enjoyed a good season and gained a deserved win back down in trip but, equally, didn't need to improve on the form of his placed efforts before the turn of the year in order to do so; patiently ridden, still plenty to do 2 out, stayed on to lead close home.

ran well back in calmer waters and might have shaded the verdict but for a late mistake, though he esssentially isn't one to be making excuses for; waited with, typically travelled well, every chance when blundered 2 out, rallied run-in.

wasted no time getting back on track reverted to fences but seems summed up by his handicap mark for now; made running, joined when jumped right 5 out, still upsides when blundered last, kept on.

ran an increasingly typical race, losing several places late on having looked the likely winner, and his weak-finishing tendencies are becoming hard to ignore now; chased leader, went upsides 5 out, looked in control briefly run-in, folded close home.

isn't the easiest to assess on recent efforts but he's done well when contesting 2 races at this meeting in the past and shouldn't be passed over if turned out again on Sunday (won same race off 8 lb higher mark in 2018), this run after 10 weeks off (easy to back) suggesting plenty of ability remains; not settle fully, in touch when not fluent 3 out and 2 out, one paced.

A useful handicap, though all 6 are fully exposed, whilst a stop-start gallop resulted in a race of changing complexions late on, the winner still only fifth 2 out.
