improved to cause a surprise with this listed win, having seemingly had limitations exposed already, but was seen to maximum effect in a very messy race, clearly an opportunistic element to the win; broke well, close up, edged ahead inside final 1f, had nothing to spare; circumstances are unlikely to be so favourable next time and she'll be on to oppose at a similar level.

wasted no time getting back on track and should have won, likely to have shown improvement had all things been equal and worth crediting with that; held up, travelled smoothly, had to pick way through over 1f out, finished well, just failed, disadvantaged by the run of the race.

didn't quite match recent performances for nursery wins but it was a sound effort up in grade and he certainly continues in good heart; raced wide (not an ideal position), prominent, travelled well, challenged inside final 1f, kept on; no surprise if he is capable of winning a similar event before the season's out.

was straight back on track after finishing down the field in the Gimcrack, shaping better than the bare result; raced stand side, pushed along 2f out, keeping on when hampered inside final 1f, finished with running left; he is a big, scopey sort who remains with potential, especially with an eye on next year.

ran well upped in grade, unlucky not to finish closer; dropped out, took strong hold, headway when met some trouble over 1f out, ran on; she is an eager type, evident even in the preliminaries, but the hood continues to help and she could well be up to picking up some black type, especially against fillies.

Races don't get much messier than this one did, space at a premium as they all crammed towards the stand-side rail, avoiding any trouble crucial, giving prominent racers the edge, and for several of the field it's not a day for them to be judged on.

ACCIPITER improved to cause a surprise with this listed win, having seemingly had limitations exposed already, but was seen to maximum effect in a very messy race, clearly an opportunistic element to the win; broke well, close up, edged ahead inside final 1f, had nothing to spare; circumstances are unlikely to be so favourable next time and she'll be on to oppose at a similar level.
