has been a revelation since current connections got hold of him out of a seller just over 2 months ago, most progressive and successful on 3 of his 4 starts for the stable, this time up markedly in grade, improving again but seen to maximum effect; made all, setting modest tempo against stand rail until quickening after halfway, driven over 1f out, tackled inside final 1f, battled well having had the run of the race; likely to continue in form.

whose rider was unable to claim, ran his best race to date and probably deserves as much credit as the all-the-way winner; in touch, headway under pressure over 1f out, edged right, stayed on and would probably have benefited from a stronger gallop.

was unable to justify favouritism but ran well and is progressing gradually; prominent, travelled smoothly, every chance approaching final 1f, one paced; remains unexposed and should remain competitive in similar events, the Firth of Clyde at Ayr next month a possible option back against fillies.

faced a stiffer task in this grade, perhaps just not up to it, but was hardly seen to best effect with where she raced in what was a slightly muddling affair; held up, progress out wide after halfway, chased leaders approaching final 1f, effort flattened out.

A listed event that was won 12 months ago by Supplicant, who went on to land the Group 2 Mill Reef on his next start, whilst it was won in 2012 by one that subsequently hit the frame in Group company too, but this latest renewal perhaps isn't rated so highly, with the result not even 100% solid, Izzthatright benefiting from a fairly easy lead.
