TRICKY JENNY is weighted to reverse last month's near miss behind Sheer Beauty and she gets the vote in an open-looking novice. Northern raider Havana Gift is feared most, with Texas Crown also respected.

HONKY TONK GIRL sets the standard following a much-improved performance at Nottingham last time. Elmfield would appeal if supported, while Nzuri should be in the hunt for the places.

MISS COLETTE is bred to be much better than her lowly opening mark and can provide Sir Mark Prescott with another winning handicap debutante. Blue Hero arrives in good form and has a positive course record, so rates as the main danger.

Analyst Verdict 1-2-3
The inaugural running of this marathon contest using stalls with VALIANCY making plenty of appeal. Successful on return at Hamilton, he very much caught the eye when sixth in the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot in June, keeping on well having been asked to come from a long way back (also widest of all). He earns the vote with potential for better still over this longer trip. Ascot Stakes second Defiantly and Highwind head a strong Irish challenge, whilst Believitanducan is another holding claims.

Ended last season on the up and picked up where he left off with stylish success at Hamilton (13f) in May. Came from a long way back (also widest of all) when an eye-catching sixth in Copper Horse at Royal Ascot (1¾m) since and he's most interesting up further in trip in refitted cheekpieces. Position Prediction: 1

DEFIANTLY (FR) D. B. McMonagle
Lightly-raced sort who easily bettered his 2 previous efforts this year in a change of headgear when going down narrowly to his stablemate in last month's Ascot Stakes (2½m), rallying once headed. Stamina clearly his strong suit and a repeat gives him solid claims from 4 lb higher. Position Prediction: 2

David Egan silk
HIGHWIND (FR) David Egan
Hasn't stood much racing in recent seasons but confirmed his return to form when 4½ lengths fourth at Curragh (2m) in June, doing best of those ridden positively in a soundly-run race. That was an encouraging effort and he's an interesting contender for his all-conquering jumps yard. Position Prediction: 3
