Fillies and mares typically receive a sex allowance of 3lb-5lb when racing against colts and geldings in conditions races. So, for example, if a colt and a filly of the same age and with the same Timeform master rating meet in a Group 1 event, other things being equal, this allowance will give the filly the better chance on form.
