is a scopey, well-bred colt who's on the path to pattern company judged on this success on first outing since leaving Simon & Ed Crisford after 9 months off, having the advantage of stall one but going away from the field in manner that suggests the draw merely amplified his superiority rather than being a contributing factor; led, kicked on over 2f out, went clear over 1f out, just kept up to work; he looks quite exciting all of a sudden.

was quite a warm order but nonetheless shaped as if this first run in 7 months might just do her some good, though the fact this was a far stronger race than she's eligible for might well have been a factor, too; pressed leader, shaken up under 3f out, hung left over 1f out, one paced.

Not hard to think this is really solid form by northern midweek standards, the winner and third both very lightly raced, that pair split by last year's winner of this with the 2022 winner a place further back.
