An above-average renewal of this Grade 2 and the exciting Sutton Place was well on top at the line despite briefly looking in trouble approaching the straight.

SUTTON PLACE (IRE) passed another test to complete his 5-timer, different qualities on show than when beating the reopposing Supasundae and Ttebbob over 2m at Naas 3 weeks earlier, the fact he was doing his best work at the finish opening up other avenues distance-wise for him, still very much a work in progress, but already within touching distance of those at the head of the hurdling ranks; mid-field, not fluent 5 out, ridden leaving home turn, driven from 2 out, edged left approaching last, found plenty to lead entering final 100 yds; his trainer indicated post-race that he's highly unlikely to be supplemented for any of the Grade 1s at Cheltenham, instead targetting a race at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday, though he remains with potential and is one to keep on the right side wherever he appears next.

DE PLOTTING SHED (IRE) continues to run well at graded level, unlucky to bump into a potential top notcher on this occasion; chased leaders, went on 3 out, untidy next, shaken up approaching last, headed flat, no extra close home.

RENNETI (FR) long established as quirky, ran well on form with the blinkers worn last time retained, though he once again failed to apply himself fully when push came to shove; reluctant start, in rear (already 15 lengths behind leader at first), smooth headway after 3 out, switched left before next, ridden approaching last, kept on without threatening to land a blow.

SUPASUNDAE is holding his form well; mid-division, went handy before halfway, not fluent 3 out, driven after next, short of room approaching last, faded near finish.

DEDIGOUT (IRE) never looked like repeating his victory in this race 2 years earlier, though did at least run better than at Gowran last month; held up, some headway home turn, pushed along after 3 out, merely plugged on.

TAGLIETELLE continues below form; mid-division, lost place soon after halfway, not fluent 5 out, beaten early in straight.

TTEBBOB (IRE) failed to build on his more promising effort at Naas 3 weeks earlier; waited with, took strong hold, ridden early in straight, made no impression.

MILSEAN (IRE) continues out of sorts; raced clear, untidy fourth, reduced advantage before sixth, headed entering straight, faded.

THOMAS HOBSON was unable to dominate, eventually getting to the front but stopping quickly once headed; chased leader, untidy fifth, led briefly early in straight, weakening when not fluent 2 out.
