had scored over fences from 14 lb higher a month earlier and - wearing blinkers for just the second time in his career - capitalised on a much lower hurdles mark to follow up; prominent, travelled well, led on bridle between 3 out and 2 out, asserted before last, ridden out; his mark in this sphere will no doubt take a big hit for this success, and it'll be no surprise if he's back over the larger obstacles before too long, with few likely to arrive in better heart if taking up his entry for the Paddy Power Chase over the Christmas period, unproven over 3m but shaping as though worth a try in his current mood.

had a lot on his plate trying to concede - before his jockey's claim is taken into account - 28 lb to Rossvoss, unlucky to bump into one so well treated but nevertheless improving further back up in trip; waited with, crept closer from halfway, went second before last, kept on though no impression on winner; another small weight rise awaits, though he should remain competitive.

couldn't complete her hat-trick back up in trip, undone in no small part by a harsh-looking 12 lb rise in the weights for her Naas success 6 weeks earlier; raced wide, chased leader travelling as well as any, pushed along 2 out, edged left, not quicken.

Overrounds: Industry SP 129%, Betfair SP 99.5%

A valuable handicap hurdle lacking too many obvious improvers, and it was left to the fairly useful chaser Rossvoss - always towards the front end in a steadily-run race - to make a mockery of his much lower hurdles mark, scooting away in the closing stages.

ROSSVOSS had scored over fences from 14 lb higher a month earlier and - wearing blinkers for just the second time in his career - capitalised on a much lower hurdles mark to follow up; prominent, travelled well, led on bridle between 3 out and 2 out, asserted before last, ridden out; his mark in this sphere will no doubt take a big hit for this success, and it'll be no surprise if he's back over the larger obstacles before too long, with few likely to arrive in better heart if taking up his entry for the Paddy Power Chase over the Christmas period, unproven over 3m but shaping as though worth a try in his current mood.

JIMMY TWO TIMES (IRE) ran well making his reappearance after 8 months off; mid-division, jumped right 4 out, headway early in straight, second when driven soon after 2 out, one paced.

RUSSIAN BILL (IRE) who went very close here 3 weeks earlier, failed to justify good support, though nevertheless ran respectably; raced off the pace, headway under pressure from 3 out, switched left after next, no further impression.

ALL YOU NEED (FR) couldn't complete her hat-trick back up in trip, undone in no small part by a harsh-looking 12 lb rise in the weights for her Naas success 6 weeks earlier; raced wide, chased leader travelling as well as any, pushed along 2 out, edged left, not quicken.

MISTY LADY (IRE) wasn't disgraced, though handicapper does now seem in control; made running, mistake second, ridden when hit 3 out, headed before next, beaten when untidy last.

GO PADDY GO (IRE) failed to the expected progress back up in trip from 3 lb out of the handicap; mid-division, pushed along between 3 out and 2 out, made no impression.

AMINABAD (FR) claimer ridden/back up in trip after 3 months off, was never better than mid-field.

HARVEY LOGAN (IRE) failed to repeat his good effort at Fairyhouse a fortnight earlier; mid-field, lost place when mistake sixth, pushed along 3 out, made no impression.

MINE NOW (IRE) ran below form after 7 weeks off, the handicapper slow to relent; in touch until 2 out, faded.

GLENQUEST (IRE) was presumably having a pipe opener after 8 months off ahead of a return to chasing, no surprise if connections are lining up another try at the Welsh National in a couple of weeks time having gone close in the race last season; chased leaders, ridden approaching 3 out, weakened before next.

THE CRAFTY BUTCHER (IRE) was well held; in rear, struggling from 4 out.

MRS MAC VEALE (IRE) again ran below form; mid-field, pushed along home turn, weakened 3 out.

PRINCELY CONN (IRE) ran no sort of race back up in trip after 7 weeks off; always behind.
