confirmed the big impression made at Ascot to win up in grade, now 2 from 2 on the Flat for current connections, this victory essentially cementing his place in the Melbourne Cup; tracked pace, loomed up entering straight, quickened to lead over 2f out, kept on well; will remain of plenty of interest wherever he turns up next, the Irish St Leger an obvious target should he run again before he heads to Australia.

whose form last time is proving strong, continues to progress, unlucky to bump into one for the second successive start; mid-division, good headway entering straight, effort over 1f out, kept on well, pulled clear of rest; he's well capable of winning at this sort of level.

A fascinating renewal of a Group 3 that is usually held at Leopardstown, the market dominated by one that is better known as a high-class hurdler and a very progressive 3-y-o, that pair duly coming nicely clear of the rest, but the outcome was in little doubt once Vauban went to the front early in the straight.

VAUBAN (FR) confirmed the big impression made at Ascot to win up in grade, now 2 from 2 on the Flat for current connections, this victory essentially cementing his place in the Melbourne Cup; tracked pace, loomed up entering straight, quickened to lead over 2f out, kept on well; will remain of plenty of interest wherever he turns up next, the Irish St Leger an obvious target should he run again before he heads to Australia.

PEKING OPERA (IRE) failed to capitalise on the drop in grade, this probably as good as he is; chased leaders, headway early in straight, ridden 2f out, kept on.
