strong in the betting, bounced back to form returned to a shorter trip to record a third C&D success; in rear, headway under pressure over 2f out, edged right entering final 1f, led final 100 yds; this wasn't a strong Group 3 by any means and he'll remain vulnerable to less-exposed sorts.

stepped up on recent run having been easy to back, this his best effort for a while; held up, driven out wide over 3f out, progress over 2f out, edged right entering final 1f, kept on; uncertain to reproduce this form next time.

was unable to lead for the first time and ran to a similar level to 7 weeks earlier, though it was slightly disappointing that he couldn't do better having looked a threat at one stage, a slightly awkward head carriage put down to residual greenness for now; in touch, challenged 2f out, held when hung right 1f out; remains with potential, especially when taking his blue-blooded pedigree into account, in top hands, too.

A race with a long tradition, one that can be a pointer towards the top level, though this looks a slightly below-par renewal, a pair of 3-y-os heading the betting, the favourite giving it a good go from the front, but she couldn't fend off a well-backed one with a good record here who was typically played as late as possible.

LAYFAYETTE (IRE) strong in the betting, bounced back to form returned to a shorter trip to record a third C&D success; in rear, headway under pressure over 2f out, edged right entering final 1f, led final 100 yds; this wasn't a strong Group 3 by any means and he'll remain vulnerable to less-exposed sorts.
