had failed to complete more often than not since his previous victory over fences back in December 2018, albeit largely in top-end handicaps, but, sporting more severe headgear, finally capitalised on a falling mark, also with the assistance of a good-value 7 lb claimer having his first ride for the yard; mid-division, jumped fine, close up 2 out (usual 3 out), led entering straight, asserted soon after last, ridden out; his trainer mentioned the Ulster National at Downpatrick as a possible next port of call.

failed to meet expectations, possibly a bit rusty after a further 10 weeks off, also unsuited by the drop back in trip; held up, took closer order after halfway, pushed along from 2 out (usual 3 out), outpaced early in straight, took third close home.
