took his most notable step forward yet as he made an immediate Group-race breakthrough, a fourth win on the bounce brought up in now-trademark fashion, always a step or 2 ahead of the runner-up tactically but certainly no sniffing at his dominance over the others; having broke well to lead, he quickened 4f out and had burned off all bar the second when wandering under pressure in the final 1f, clinging on despite Heffernan dropping his whip, still likely to have emerged with bags of credit even had he been collared; whether he can pull of these tactics around Doncaster if heading across the Irish Sea for the St Leger is a big doubt, however.
quickly away, led, quickened 4f out, ridden when wandered final 1f, closed down quickly close home, just held on

not only revived on his third start back but should have won, nothing in it at the line after there'd been plenty in it almost as soon as they'd left the stalls, conceding first run to a highly-progressive 3-y-o a bigger issue than conceding 11 lb; dropped out, he was forced wide entering the straight yet sustained his steady progress, closing strongly late on without his rider resorting to any more than a hands-and-heels ride; any potential return Down Under has to be up in the air in the current climate but he'll always have the Irish St Leger itself as a home-based tonic.

is a fascinating prospect for arguably the best jumps yard in the game, absent another 14 months yet confirming himself a smart performer only 4 starts into his career, sure to build on this provided he can stand his racing better, good races to be won with him; mid-division, travelled well, shaken up 2f out, ran on, opening up new options now proving his stamina for the longer trip.

was found out in better company and wasn't any better than the result but this still goes down as a big step up on his maiden form, clearly suited by the longer trip; chased leader, ridden entering straight, one paced.

upped markedly in trip, barely stayed after 7 weeks off but did win the 'race' among his own yard's runners, convincingly so, too; patiently ridden, in touch entering straight, shaken up 2f out, no further impression; he's still useful.

A good renewal of this, full of intrigue, which went the way of an improving 3-y-o at the chief expense of a quality older horse bursting back to form, the also-rans put in their place.
