is running consistently well in defeat, adding to her tally of runner-up efforts in first-time cheekpieces; tracked pace, led 2f out, headed 1f out, rallied final 100 yds, just failed; a really likeable type, she deserves to add to her sole debut success at some stage, perhaps when again tried over further than 1½m.

ran her best race to date in first-time blinkers/upped in trip, albeit not finding as much as the pair that finished in front of her in the closing stages; mid-division, pushed along 2f out, every chance final 1f, effort flattened out; may do better still.

A useful renewal of this Group 3 event but no better, the market unable to find an outright favourite, though it did produce a thrilling finish, Zannda and Altesse going toe-to-toe inside the final 1f, the former just coming out on top; a steady gallop quickened appreciably once they turned for home.
