was value a bit extra as he followed up from last time, sure to have defied an 8 lb higher mark (including 1 lb out of handicap) by a bigger margin but for a late error; waited with, took closer order before halfway, jumped on 3 out, in control when blundered next, all out to hold on; he's proving steadily progressive as a chaser and can hardly go up much more for this.

back up in trip, ran well returned to fences, showing a tendency to carry his head awkwardly and occasionally jumping left as well, but it's hard to crab him too much given how he responded to pressure; made running, pushed along after fifteenth, headed 3 out, rallied after next, just failed.

has been given a major chance by the handicapper (dropped 11 lb since previous run in a handicap) but didn't seem to have any excuses, fit from points (runner-up all 3 starts this winter) after all; in touch, ridden after 4 out, one paced run-in.

looked interesting on his handicap debut as a chaser but couldn't deliver, a bit surprising that more patient tactics than usual were adopted; dropped out, jumped better as race wore on (jumped big and rather deliberately early), not fluent fourteenth, pushed along after, no extra between last 2.

isn't coming any closer to winning his first race over fences; close up, lost place before halfway, driven approaching straight, no threat from 3 out.

Hard to believe this will prove good form by 0-135 standards, but the winner is proving steadily progressive over fences and was value for a bit extra over the result after a late mistake; as might have been expected, the pace was nothing special.

HOUSTON TEXAS (IRE) was value a bit extra as he followed up from last time, sure to have defied an 8 lb higher mark (including 1 lb out of handicap) by a bigger margin but for a late error; waited with, took closer order before halfway, jumped on 3 out, in control when blundered next, all out to hold on; he's proving steadily progressive as a chaser and can hardly go up much more for this.

MOUNT MELLERAY (IRE) back up in trip, ran well returned to fences, showing a tendency to carry his head awkwardly and occasionally jumping left as well, but it's hard to crab him too much given how he responded to pressure; made running, pushed along after fifteenth, headed 3 out, rallied after next, just failed.

COOLE HALL (IRE) has been given a major chance by the handicapper (dropped 11 lb since previous run in a handicap) but didn't seem to have any excuses, fit from points (runner-up all 3 starts this winter) after all; in touch, ridden after 4 out, one paced run-in.

RIGHTPLACERIGHTIME (IRE) looked interesting on his handicap debut as a chaser but couldn't deliver, a bit surprising that more patient tactics than usual were adopted; dropped out, jumped better as race wore on (jumped big and rather deliberately early), not fluent fourteenth, pushed along after, no extra between last 2.

BEHINDTHELINES (IRE) isn't coming any closer to winning his first race over fences; close up, lost place before halfway, driven approaching straight, no threat from 3 out.
