was able to put it all together for a change in first-time cheekpieces back down in trip, his jumping much better than is often the case, and he looked at least as good as ever as he registered a first win since October 2020; close up, travelled smoothly, upsides 3 out, shaken up home turn, led last, kept up to work; consistency hasn't proved to be his forte and it remains to be seen if the cheekpieces have the same effect next time.

A valuable handicap that wasn't as competitive as promised, the well-backed favourite disappointing and the first 2 home always at the head of affairs, the third the only one to threaten from behind.

DISCORDANTLY (IRE) was able to put it all together for a change in first-time cheekpieces back down in trip, his jumping much better than is often the case, and he looked at least as good as ever as he registered a first win since October 2020; close up, travelled smoothly, upsides 3 out, shaken up home turn, led last, kept up to work; consistency hasn't proved to be his forte and it remains to be seen if the cheekpieces have the same effect next time.

JERANDME (IRE) rarely runs a bad race and wasted no time getting back to form back down in trip and in first-time cheekpieces; made running, untidy third, joined 3 out, ridden home turn, close up still last, not quicken.

DONKEY YEARS (IRE) again shaped well, not so well placed as the pair that beat him and the only one able to really pose any sort of threat from out of the pack; mid-field, good progress after 2 out, shaken up entering straight, kept on.

BATCIO (FR) again ran creditably back up in trip, just looking to be in grip of the handicapper for now; mid-field, steady headway 2 out, effort home turn, one paced.

JACKSONS GOLD (IRE) fared better than of late, belatedly showing something like his chasing debut form, hardly suited by the way things panned out here, either; raced wide, held up, ridden 3 out, kept on straight.

RIGHTPLACERIGHTIME (IRE) was strong in the betting turned out again quickly, presumably as a last-ditch effort to get him high enough for the Kim Muir, but he was badly let down by his jumping; prominent, jumped poorly, behind when not fluent again 2 out, keeping on when jumped left last.

MAX FLAMINGO (IRE) probably remains in form, too poorly placed to make more of an impact this time; raced well off the pace, jumped right, some headway 3 out, kept on from home turn.

PALOMA BLUE (IRE) claimer ridden and back in cheekpieces, ran respectably after 3 months off; tracked pace, not fluent fifth, every chance 2 out, weakened approaching last, better placed than most.

FAN DE BLUES (FR) was easy to back and ran below form retried in headgear; raced wide, mid-field, effort leaving 2 out, made little impression, not unduly punished.

BOLD ASSASSIN (IRE) wasn't in the same form as last time making handicap debut; prominent, ridden leaving 2 out, faded from home turn.

WINTER ESCAPE (IRE) followed a good run with a below-par one; raced wide, mid-field, struggling 2 out, weakening when untidy last.

NOTICE TO CLOSE continues out of sorts; held up, left behind from 3 out.

CHARLIE STOUT (IRE) followed a below-par effort with an even worse one; in rear, dropped away from 2 out.

MOUNT PELIER (IRE) showed nothing returning from another fairly lengthy absense; held up, awkward fifth, lost place early final circuit, pulled up before sixth.
