well backed, finally got off the mark over fences, hard to fault him on the day even if he did come in for a good ride that seized the initiative; disputed lead, jumped well, chased leader from eighth, led again 5 out, quickened 4 out, 3 lengths up soon after next, driven out; he can't be relied on entirely to back this up, however.

ran well back in a handicap considering he was always playing catch-up; held up, not fluent second, fifth, headway under pressure 2 out, went second last, ran on; there's room for improvemen in his jumping but he's a fresh horse and clearly up to winning a handicap chase or 2.

ran creditably judged on what he's been doing this season with headgear left off back chasing but seemingly just isn't the same force as when winning this race from fully 12 lb higher in 2021; mid-division, hit 5 out, in touch after 3 out, lost second flat.

who'd had a breathing operation and wore a tongue strap, wasn't seen to best effect back over fences after getting badly hampered by the faller, probably doing well to get back into contention in the circumstances; mid-division, badly hampered eighth, in touch 5 out, effort after next, no extra from 2 out.

shaped as if retaining all his ability and enthusiasm after 6 months off, leaving the impression he'd be better for the run, though it was a shame that he ended up falling; in touch, headway to lead eighth, headed 5 out, lost place next, shaken up 3 out, fifth but not far behind when fell next; his jumping isn't at all a concern in general.

A useful standard but probably not a race containing many well-treated horses, the winner for one already having had plenty of chances in handicaps; they really quickened up from the home turn, the winner in pole position at that point.

BEAKSTOWN (IRE) well backed, finally got off the mark over fences, hard to fault him on the day even if he did come in for a good ride that seized the initiative; disputed lead, jumped well, chased leader from eighth, led again 5 out, quickened 4 out, 3 lengths up soon after next, driven out; he can't be relied on entirely to back this up, however.

NIETZSCHE ran creditably judged on what he's been doing this season with headgear left off back chasing but seemingly just isn't the same force as when winning this race from fully 12 lb higher in 2021; mid-division, hit 5 out, in touch after 3 out, lost second flat.
