had no problem dropping back markedly in trip and ran right up to his best, well treated on the form that he'd shown behind Cheltenham Festival winners Blaklion and Black Hercules earlier in the season; never far away, jumped well, led 4 out, tackled from next, dug deep under pressure and proved most determined; he's a likeable type and could be winning even more valuable handicaps next season.

again ran well, beaten on merit but only by one that was well-in, and he did almost everything right himself; tracked pace, travelled fluently, close up when mistake 3 out, rallied, upsides last, held final 50 yds but kept on; he's sure to win more races.

shaped similarly to last time, a creditable effort on form but not convincing with his finishing effort; mid-division, pushed along approaching 3 out, challenged between last 2, hung left and carried head awkwardly, effort flattened out; he's handicapped to remain competitive but has a suspect attitude.

ran better than for a while, but could do with mark edging down a bit more on balance; held up, pushed along 5 out, kept on.

wasn't disgraced in form terms but his finishing effort left something to be desired, this trip on soft ground possibly stretching him; prominent, went with zest, every chance 2 out, found less than looked likely; it might be worth trying him around 2m again as he's not short of speed.

They didn't go a strong pace here, hence the relatively bunched finish, but it still appeals as fairly solid form, the principals all in good heart and/or well treated.
