resumed progress and indeed winning ways, benefiting from a supremely-judged ride, Mullen producing this quirky individual to lead on the line; mid-division, travelled much better than last time, headway over 1f out, stayed on to lead post; isn't straightforward and will always come with risks attached, but he has more than enough ability to follow up, a rise in the weights set to be minimal given the margins involved.

well backed to provide his yard with their third winner of the afternoon, produced a career best to go agonisingly close; soon across to lead from wide draw, headed under 3f out, led again over 1f out, collared deep inside final 1f, stuck to task; a likeable type, he should continue to give a good account.

dangerously handicapped, he was refitted with cheekpieces and put a couple of below-par displays behind him, turning in his best effort of the season/for current connections, losing out on the nod; in touch, travelled fluently, led narrowly deep inside final 1f, headed post; is one to note, especially when encountering similar underfoot conditions.

ran respectably, essentially just competing a shade above his station, admittedly not helping himself by taking a keen hold; prominent, raced freely, upsides before halfway, went on over 2f out, headed over 1f out, carried head bit awkwardly as he faded.

The feature race on the card, this a good-quality handicap for a Monday afternoon, victory going to the sole member of the classic generation, the talented but enigmatic Get Knotted shading a 3-way photo; the pace was sound.
