Dubai Treasure (Timeform rating 104p)
Fourth, 7f handicap, York, Friday 11 July
Dubai Treasure’s reappearance win is working out, but she was surprisingly easy to back at York on Friday prior to her fourth-placed finish behind Obelix. However, she remains in top form, going through the race as if still well ahead of the assessor until the relatively quick turnaround perhaps left her short at the end, it worth remembering that she's stood little racing. She will remain of plenty of interest, especially when back on the all-weather (2-2).
Meblesh (90)
Third, 1¼m handicap, Ascot, Friday 11 July
Meblesh ran at least as well in defeat at Ascot on Friday as when winning a softer race the time before at Lingfield, shaping well from further back than ideal. Waited with by Sean Levey, Meblesh made good headway under two furlongs out, before making no further impression late on once that big effort told. The Sea The Stars colt still looks to have a bit of maturing to do and looks to have the scope for further progress from marks in the low 80s.
Raafedd (104p)
Third, 1m handicap, Newmarket (July), Saturday 12 July
Raafedd had no luck at Ascot and wasted no time getting back on the up on the July Course on Saturday, the way he moved into contention showing he's still on a good mark and that 1m is probably going to prove a maximum for him (has plenty of speed on dam's side of pedigree). Held up in rear by Tom Marquand, Raafed made rapid headway around two furlongs out and edged ahead over a furlong out, headed only in the last half-furlong having edged left. He remains a smart prospect and one to look out for.
