got a well-judged ride but proved himself at least as good as ever in following up from Ballinrobe, and will head to the Galway Plate with very strong claims, potentially on a good mark over fences notwithstanding a poor completion rate; chased leaders, not fluent 4 out, led 2 out, jumped right last, kept up to work.

is presumably being lined up for another tilt at the Galway Hurdle, a race he won in 2018, and didn't shape at all badly after 10 weeks off with his rider putting up 2 lb overweight, splitting a smart pair after conceding first run to them; waited with, headway 3 out, second 2 out, kept on but no further impression on winner.

shaped encouragingly back over hurdles minus his usual headgear on his first start since a remote ninth in the Grand National at Aintree; held up, still plenty to do home turn, stayed on, never nearer; he's another that probably has the Galway Plate on his agenda (early faller last year) but he'll face the winner on worse terms than he did here.

had produced a useful effort to win back on the Flat the previous month, and seemed to run her best race yet over jumps in the face of an even stiffer task; held up, headway home turn, blundered 2 out, no further impression; she's certainly good enough to take a bit of beating in most maidens at this time of year.

A real mixed bag, which ran the gamut from a Grand National also-ran to a useful 4-y-o, Aintree Hurdle runner-up Sharjah the pick of the weights but foiled by one who highlighted his Galway Plate claims; the pace was sound.
