didn't even need to be at her best to gain this first listed success but it was a likeable, typically straightforward performance; raced along inside, tracked pace, travelled well, switched early in straight, led under pressure entering final 1f, tackled last ½f, held on gamely; she's a very genuine filly and boasts a good strike rate.

With the lowest-rated quartet in the field finishing in the next 4 positions behind the first 2 there's a limit to the view that can be taken of this bare form but Spirit Raiser and Black Cherry essentially had the finish between themselves and both are very useful, straightforward fillies; it was a soundly-run affair.

SPIRIT RAISER (IRE) didn't even need to be at her best to gain this first listed success but it was a likeable, typically straightforward performance; raced along inside, tracked pace, travelled well, switched early in straight, led under pressure entering final 1f, tackled last ½f, held on gamely; she's a very genuine filly and boasts a good strike rate.

BLACK CHERRY deserves the utmost credit for her consistency and this was yet another cracking effort in defeat, not having such a smooth trip as the winner, that the difference between them on the day; mid-division, travelled fluently, good progress out wide home turn, challenged last ½f, kept on but always just held.

ESTEEMABLE has had a tremendous 5 months, 4 handicap wins in that time, and she ran a belter upped in grade here, continuing her progress; mid-field, went with enthusiasm, headway when switched over 1f out, kept on.

LUCY THE PAINTER (IRE) remains in good form and ran about as well as could have been expected upped in grade; tracked pace, driven over 1f out, kept on.

LADY MARL after 3 months off, faced a stiff task in this grade and ran as well as could be expected; held up, took strong hold, headway 2f out, no further impression.

LOAVES AND FISHES was below form in first-time hood, is proving inconsistent; led, raced freely, headed entering final 1f, weakened.

MOTHERS FINEST (IRE) wasn't seen to best effect and is better judged on previous form; held up, effort out very wide on home turn, never dangerous but was poorly placed and not unduly punished.

MERRY ME (IRE) ran one of lesser races, no obvious reason for it; close up, ridden over 2f out, weakened approaching final 1f.

GRATZIE merely underlined her inconsistency after Bath win last time; slowly into stride, never travelling well, always behind.

CLOTILDE found run of good form coming to a halt; raced wide, chased leaders, weakened early in straight.

ALFAJER after 3 months off, can have this run overlooked; worst of draw, raced wide, effort over 2f out, never on terms but not unduly punished.
