resumed winning ways and must be a fair way ahead of his mark to win as he did in spite of a rather shoddy round of jumping; travelled well, mistake first, disputed lead second, hit seventh, went on early final circuit, hit 5 out, joined next, jumped on again 3 out, clouted next, in command last, had bit in hand; there's more improvement to come, though he's kept to minor tracks so far and his technique would be a concern with stiffer fences to negotiate.

improved after 8 weeks off, at least matching anything he did over hurdles on his third try over fences, shaping fairly well; held up, took closer order seventh, third early final circuit, shaken up after 4 out, went second last, ran on; he's worth a try at 3m and is capable of winning a race of this nature.

ran respectably, probably benefiting from the step back up in trip, though his jumping was rather erratic; in rear, slow fourth, not fluent eleventh, in touch home turn, pushed along after 4 out, clouted 2 out, went third flat.

back up in trip, shaped as if still in good form, a combination of racing freely taking on the winner and a late blunder seeing him lose a couple of places late; led early, joined from second, chased leader early final circuit, clouted 5 out, led briefly next, lost second last, weakened flat.

ran poorly, Town Parks also doing nothing for the form of their race here last time (Almazhar Garde out of it early that day); in touch, lost place fifth, never going well from circuit out, well beaten 5 out.

after 11 months off, shaped much better than being pulled up suggests but there might have been more to it than a mere lack of fitness, remembering how he also failed to see things out in his 3 runs upon joining this yard last season; mid-division, in touch sixth, disputing third when shaken up 4 out, weakened.

wasn't in the same form as when winning here last time, Night of Sin's performance also suggesting that race wasn't much good (Almazhar Garde an early faller that day); in touch, mistake fifth, off pace circuit out, never going well after, weakened home turn.

All 7 ran. Fences: 17. Race Distance Adjustment: +72 yds

Winning Owner: Kate & Andrew Brooks

Time: 5m 7.1s Closing Sectional: (2.20f): 31.80s (104.3%)

Overrounds: Industry SP 120%, Betfair SP 99.2%

Plenty of ropey jumping in this, including from the winner, so it wasn't the race it might've been, though it's still worth being positive about the first 2; the winner and fourth took each other on in the lead, though the closing sectional suggests they weren't going as fast as it might have looked.
