last year's Irish 1000 Guineas winner, got back on track to a large extent after finishing last season with a bit of a whimper, though couldn't quite seal the deal after travelling well into the race; chased leaders, smooth headway entering straight, upsides entering final 1f, edged out late on.

There was a cracking finish to this listed race - which, unfourtunately, was marred by what looked a very nasty injury to Georgeville - the pair at the head of the market fighting it out, the only colt in the field edging it close home.

BUCKAROO who had reportedly met with a fairly serious setback since disappointing in the Irish 2000 Guineas, showed improved form, and a good attitude, to make a winning reappearance; tracked pace, pushed along entering straight, edged ahead over 1f out, joined soon after, dug deep under pressure; remains with potential for longer trips, the Tattersalls Gold Cup an obvious early-season target.

MEA DOMINA (FR) shaped encouragingly on first outing since leaving J. Reynier after 5 months off, well positioned the way things panned out but unlucky to bump into a pair that are a cut above this level; made running, quickened early in straight, headed approaching final 1f, no extra, had the run of the race.

SALTONSTALL ran respectably to fill the same spot as he had in this race last year; held up, ridden entering straight, kept on, never landed a blow.
