very much confirmed his debut promise, well ridden from the front as he made it 2 from 2 without yet looking anything like the finished article, every bit a smart colt in the making; dictated, raced freely, quickened approaching 2f out, ridden over 1f out, carried head bit awkwardly, kept on.

confirmed debut promise 9 weeks on despite finding one too good this time, tactics playing a big part, Hellsing the only one to pass a rival once the race developed; in touch, travelled smoothly, ridden over 1f out, kept on gradually, took second close home; will go on improving.

strong in the betting, ran to a similar level as in the Railway, his progression having clearly levelled out, though he still looks capable of better granted a stiffer test at this trip; chased leader, shaken up over 2f out, one paced.

failed to back up his excellent run in the Chesham, though is perhaps still best judged on that for now, the run of the race going against him here; in rear, pushed along 2f out, one paced, never a threat.

Proud and Regal may well prove the best of this quintet but his victory in this well-established Group 3 contest owed as much to tactics as it did to ability and potential, the Donnacha O'Brien trained colt making all in a time slower than the preceding fillies contests over the same trip as he halted his trainer's father's winning streak in the race.

PROUD AND REGAL (IRE) very much confirmed his debut promise, well ridden from the front as he made it 2 from 2 without yet looking anything like the finished article, every bit a smart colt in the making; dictated, raced freely, quickened approaching 2f out, ridden over 1f out, carried head bit awkwardly, kept on.
