The second last fence was omitted due to the low trajectory of the sun

The joint-favourites - who came from the 2 big handicap chases run here at the Dublin Racing Festival - had this between them entering the final 1f; what's normally the second last was dolled off due to low sun and a few of the closers were short of room approaching the home turn, a prominent position definitely an advantage.

MITCHOUKA (FR) had given a good account in 2 warmer Grade B chases here already this season and confirmed that promise over this intermediate trip; in touch, chased leader approaching last, stayed on to lead near finish; he's been around for a while but is only 7 and has yet to run a bad race for the stable.

VALDIEU (FR) without the headgear after 4 months off, returned to form from out of the blue, looking better than ever in fact; mid-field, pushed along 3 out, headway next, chased leader approaching last, left in a place there, one paced.

MISTER FOGPATCHES (IRE) shaped better than the bare result after 10 weeks off, though his jumping early on was a concern; held up, early mistakes, headway out wide approaching home turn, keeping on when badly hampered last, not recover; his rider put up 2 lb overweight.

PEACHES AND CREAM (IRE) ran creditably after 6 months off despite not getting the smoothest of trips; held up, pushed along 3 out, headway when short of room approaching home turn, hampered last, no further impression.

SNUGSBOROUGH HALL (IRE) back over fences after 10 weeks off, turned in his most encouraging effort of the season, shaping better than the distance beaten suggests; mid-field, lost place when hampered approaching home turn, keeping on (in seventh) when badly hampered last, not recover.

POWERSBOMB (IRE) shaped as if back in form having first start for 10 weeks and is entitled to strip fitter for the outing, though he's clearly the type that needs things to drop just right for him; dropped out, clouted 3 out, headway after 2 out, switched entering straight, not fluent last, not sustain effort.

UISCE BEATHA (IRE) probably remains in form; raced off the pace, not fluent ninth, headway after 3 out, short of room approaching home turn, not sustain effort.

ASK NILE (IRE) in a change of headgear, seems to be going through the motions; mid-field, ridden after 2 out, faded home turn.

RAPID RESPONSE (FR) fared little better than last time, not seeing her races out at present; raced wide, settled in touch, went prominent fifth, weakening when short of room approaching home turn.

JETT (IRE) ran poorly back in a handicap without his usual cheekpieces after 10 weeks off; settled in touch, lost place seventh, weakened after 2 out.

MIDNIGHT MAESTRO was in the process of running well when again finding his jumping deserting him; prominent, took strong hold, ridden entering straight, still in share of second when fell last.

PROSPECTUS on first outing since leaving Gavin Patrick Cromwell after 10 weeks off, continues to fall in the weights without showing any sign of taking advantage; in touch, lost place after fourth, not fluent sixth, struggling next.
