Just a conditions event, but the standard was of a listed contest and even with the favourite running no sort of race, Night Raider belatedly confirmed himself to be the smart colt he'd threatened to be at the turn of the year, setting a strong gallop but nothing able to lay a glove on him.

NIGHT RAIDER (IRE) firmly got his career back on track returned to all-weather, now 3 from 3 on a synthetic surface and producing the smart effort that he'd threatened was in his locker back at Southwell in March; led, quickened on over 2f out, in command entering final 1f, had bit in hand; this proves he's listed class and the Golden Rose in November, won last year by the beaten favourite here Willem Twee, looks an obvious target.

EQUILATERAL has been more miss than hit overall this year, but this was one of his better races, even if strictly speaking not quite up to the level of his Sandown third off his big weight in mid-summer; mid-field, headway 2f out, ran on.

ZERO CARBON (FR) had something to find at this level and seemed to excel himself, but such is his record at this track he's worth the chance it doesn't flatter him, likely to look well treated back in a handicap with the assessor unable to move his mark on the back of this; chased leader, left behind by winner 2f out, plugged on.

GUTSY GIRL was one of the lowest rated in the field coming into this and ran about as well as she was entitled to, though carried little threat; held up, pushed along 2f out, never nearer; she seems well regarded the way she's been campaigned of late, but a drop back into handicap company looks the best way to go with her.

JUAN LES PINS typically got warm beforehand and probably needed the run after 3 months off; very awkward leaving stalls, raced off the pace, pushed along over 2f out, merely passed beaten horses.

GO BEARS GO (IRE) without the headgear this time, had an easier assignment but fared little better than at the Curragh; in touch, outpaced before halfway, weakened inside final 1f.

WILLEM TWEE looked to have been found an excellent opportunity but ran poorly, connections unable to offer any excuse to the stewards; held up, pushed along over 2f out, no response, not persevered with once held.

KINTA (IRE) was well held after 7 months off; mid-field, pushed along over 2f out, weakened over 1f out.
