upped in trip, produced best effort to date and resumed winning ways after just 5 days off, displaying a nice turn of foot to seize the intiative and then just clinging on from the persistent runner-up at the line; waited with, travelled well, good progress entering straight, produced to lead approaching final 1f, just held on; likely to prove best up to 1½m.

back up in trip, got back on track in first-time hood, just lacking the winner's initial change of pace, but almost getting back up on the line; close up, led 2f out, headed approaching final 1f, took strong hold, stuck to task, just failed.

upped markedly in trip, ran just respectably on first outing since leaving Simon Crisford after 5 months off; held up, pushed along entering straight, brief headway over 1f out, effort flattened out; should be sharper for the run.

under a penalty, had winning run ended off a 26 lb higher than when it started, having no answer to the principals from over 1f out, his recent busy spell possibly catching up with him as much as the handicapper; soon led, headed 2f out, weakened inside final 1f.
