came out on top in first-time visor, appreciating the drop in class and getting his head in front for the first time this year; held up, headway out wide 2f out, led final 1f, hung left, stuck to task; only did this in workmanlike fashion and wouldn't be one to be overly positive about back in better company.

ran well making all-weather debut but, like the winner, he's largely disappointed in better company this year and needs to show he can back this up; held up, travelled well, good headway out wide 2f out, carried left final 1f, kept on.

ran creditably back in a more realistic grade, ridden closer to the pace than the first 2 and also shaping as if in need of the return from 6 months off late on; in touch, led over 2f out, headed final 1f, no extra; likely to be better for the run.

A smart listed race in which the first 2 came from the back down the wide outside, but they have both had disappointing years in better company so it's not a race likely to give us any clues for the future.

WESTERN HYMN came out on top in first-time visor, appreciating the drop in class and getting his head in front for the first time this year; held up, headway out wide 2f out, led final 1f, hung left, stuck to task; only did this in workmanlike fashion and wouldn't be one to be overly positive about back in better company.

STAR STORM (IRE) ran well making all-weather debut but, like the winner, he's largely disappointed in better company this year and needs to show he can back this up; held up, travelled well, good headway out wide 2f out, carried left final 1f, kept on.

RESTORER ran creditably back in a more realistic grade, ridden closer to the pace than the first 2 and also shaping as if in need of the return from 6 months off late on; in touch, led over 2f out, headed final 1f, no extra; likely to be better for the run.

YORKIDDING was below form back down in trip after just 6 days off; mid-field, driven over 2f out, no extra final 1f.

BERKSHIRE (IRE) without the headgear this time, was too free reverting to hold-up tactics; held up, refused to settle, headway 2f out, found little.

HAMELIN (IRE) fared little better after 5 months off; led, headed 2f out, folded tamely; plenty to prove at present.

KILTARA (IRE) ran poorly after just 6 days off; prominent, weakened 2f out.
