DUSART (IRE) followed up from Leicester with the minimum of fuss, the only concern being that his jumping still isn't polished by any means, a tendency to go left again in evidence; disputed lead, jumped left throughout, went on 5 out, well clear before next, in control when awkward 2 out, won easily.

FLASH COLLONGES (FR) fared better on the jumping score this time but was put firmly in his place by an exciting one, still to match his useful hurdles form in this sphere; disputed lead until 5 out, not fluent there, left behind by winner before next, kept on straight.

REIGN SUEPREME (IRE) (by Imperial Monarch: third foal: half-brother to fair hurdler Sue Be It (2m-19f winner, by Presenting): dam (h96), 2½m/2¾m hurdle winner, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (2m-2¾m winner) For Bill) a winning pointer at the seventh attempt, was perhaps flattered in appearing to run as well as he did; chased leaders, pushed along before 4 out, kept on.

CAPTAIN CUCKOO was very much up against it and, without usual tongue strap this time, predictably finished well held; chased leaders, struggling before 4 out.
