had returned to form with second at Taunton just 7 days ago and was back to his best this time to go one better, albeit in a race that rather fell apart; chased leaders, raced lazily, left in front third, drew clear approaching 3 out, well on top finish; will find life tougher next time, for all that he has won off a higher mark before.

undone by another rise in weights, too high in the handicap now, but is running consistently well; held up, hampered third, driven before 3 out, kept on, no impression on winner.

back down in trip, ran much better than last time but still put in his place and needs further respite from the handicapper; pressed leader, took strong hold, effort approaching 3 out, held next, not quicken.

clearly wasn't 100% on the day, best not judged on this run; in touch, mistake first, ridden when chance-ending mistake 3 out, stopped quickly as if amiss; he remains unexposed.

Shammick Boy ran out an easy winner but this race generally fell apart around him, Lochnagar unseating, Pull The Chord seeming amiss and the others either badly handicapped or simply not giving their running.
