took advantage of edging down the weights on this third start of the season, back to his best in the process, but very much seen to maximum effect compared to most of the field; prominent, produced to lead 2f out, dug deep under pressure; is at least likely to continue in form, although higher marks proved beyond him towards the end of last season.

Invariably a competitive handicap and this year's renewal looks no different, plenty of solid performers involved, although several weren't seen to best effect in a race where it proved difficult to make up too much ground despite a fair gallop.

SENNOCKIAN STAR took advantage of edging down the weights on this third start of the season, back to his best in the process, but very much seen to maximum effect compared to most of the field; prominent, produced to lead 2f out, dug deep under pressure; is at least likely to continue in form, although higher marks proved beyond him towards the end of last season.

CLAYTON improved again to fill the same position as he did in this race 12 months ago, 9 lb higher this time, highlighting his positive profile; mid-field, every chance from 2f out, stayed on; likely to continue in form.

SOVIET ROCK (IRE) ran well after 6 months off, conceding fitness to the front pair which just seemed to count late on; made running, went with zest, headed 2f out, one paced; he's not had that much racing and isn't one to write off.

HI THERE (IRE) bounced back to form over a more suitable trip, not seen to best effect either which suggests he could yet raise his game further and make more of an impact off this mark; dwelt, mid-field, not settle fully, good headway over 2f out, short of room soon after, ran on.

TRES CORONAS (IRE) shaped well acknowledging he doesn't look to have much in hand from present mark, overall consistency is hard to knock which is bound to count for something at some point; waited with, travelled fluently, ran on late, left poorly placed.

KING'S WARRIOR (FR) was fit from jumps (remains with potential), and, having slipped in the weights (fourth in this race off 6 lb higher mark last year), took step back in right direction returned to the Flat, looks to be coming to the boil; missed the break (has refused in the past), waited with, ran on late, never nearer, left with too much to do; not one to dismiss totally, acknowledging his quirks.

CHARLES CAMOIN (IRE) ran one of lesser races, never much of a threat; mid-field, one paced.

PASAKA BOY wasn't disgraced after 7 months off, but has little in hand from present mark having won on his final start last season; mid-field, plugged on, not ideally placed.

CACTUS VALLEY (IRE) shaped as if better for run after 11 months off, but looks handicapped to the hilt having gone up 6 lb for his narrow success on his final start last season; waited with, never landed a blow, left with too much to do; he is at least lightly raced for age so not one to write off completely.

RESURGE (IRE) who goes well at this track (won here on his reappearance last year), disappointed after 6 months off, but not seen to best effect and worth another chance; slowly into stride, dropped out, forced wide early in straight, plugged on, never landed a blow, left with a lot to do.

EBONY EXPRESS looks handicapped to the hilt after his spree towards the end of last season, particularly in races this competitive, produced one of lesser efforts here; chased leader, faltered.

RED AVENGER (USA) was well held after 7 months off; held up, never landed a blow.

WEAPON OF CHOICE (IRE) again ran poorly, is yet to fire this season; prominent, weakened.

SALUTATION (IRE) wasn't in same form as last time, more to it than just a 10 lb higher mark; chased leaders, off the bridle before most, stopped quickly.
