The form of this Group 3 is only borderline useful but it was taken by subsequent Group 1 scorer Content last season and it looks another informative renewal, the first 6 coming from O'Brien yards with Aidan responsible for 4 of those - who were also part of the 7 last-time-out winners - Giselle sent off a warm order and probably doing well in the circumstances after being held up in a race where a progressive stablemate made most; Celtic Motif was demoted a place after causing later interference to the aforementioned favourite.

WHIRL (IRE) under more testing conditions, was well backed and overcame the rise in class after 6 weeks off, still rough around the edges but very much suited by the step up to 1m, this the first time that she'd led with even further likely to suit next year on pedigree; made running, ridden over 2f out, headed 1f out, keeping on when hung left final 100 yds, led again close home; from a good family and likely to progress again.

AND SO TO BED (IRE) upped in trip after 6 weeks off, was backed at long odds with the stable going well and resumed progress despite seeming to be more exposed than most, obtaining some valuable black type; raced wide, in touch, effort 2f out, every chance 1f out, edged ahead last ½f, headed near line.

CELTIC MOTIF (IRE) ran well upped in trip/grade but found herself being demoted a place for the second time in just 4 starts after going to her left once more; mid-field, switched soon after start, headway under pressure under 2f out, led 1f out, headed last ½f, edged left, not quicken late on; she'll have no problem winning at least maiden, 1¼m+ bound to suit her at 3 yrs.

GISELLE (IRE) couldn't justify odds-on favouritism but shaped well making her first start in pattern company, caught a bit further back than ideal and also suffering interference from Celtic Motif at contrasting ends of the race which resulted in her gaining a place following a stewards inquiry; patiently ridden, met some trouble soon after start, shaken up out wide over 2f out, good headway approaching final 1f, challenged soon after, held when carried left final 100 yds; bred in the purple and remains one to be firmly interested in, time very much likely to tell that she's the best of these and perhaps by some way.

ISLAND HOPPING (IRE) shaped encouragingly up in grade, lacking the turn of foot of some of the others but sticking at it well; handy, driven 3f out, stayed on; everything about her screams middle distances and she's one to look out for in something like an Oaks trial in the spring.

MINT CANDY (IRE) wasn't seen to best effect away from front-running tactics for the first time since debut, a greater emphasis on stamina required at this trip; taken wide, mid-division, outpaced early in straight, late headway.

CERCENE (IRE) on softer ground than previously, was found out in better company; in touch, effort 2f out, weakened final 1f; should stay 1m.

JALIYAH (IRE) after 6 weeks off, was flying too high in this grade; dwelt, in rear, pushed along under 3f out, merely closed up late.

COPACABANA SANDS (IRE) had no chance at the weights; slowly into stride, raced off the pace, took strong hold, brief headway 2f out, left behind.

FIONA MACCOUL (IRE) needed to find plenty of improvement despite having won a valuable sales race last time and was well held, the quick turnaround perhaps taking an edge off her; chased leader, driven 2f out, soon beaten.

FAMED AGAIN (IRE) in first-time hood, faced a stiff task in this grade; mid-field, ridden 3f out, struggling under 2f out.
