Effectively another 4-runner renewal of the season's final classic with the travelling German pair readily outclassed, while the proximity of the fourth puts a limit on how highly the form can be rated, the outstanding horse in the division not needing to be at his very best as he made it 5 from 5 for the season despite the race not providing a thorough test of stamina, Moore seen to typically great effect in the saddle.

KYPRIOS (IRE) reclaimed this prize having been a beaten favourite in the race last year, 5 from 5 now this season in a campaign very much mirroring that of when winning this race 2 years earlier, not needing to be at his best in landing it this time around, albeit in a race that didn't really play out in a way for him to be at his optimum, Moore wise to that and winding things up early enough to ensure he never gave his supporters much worry, having a fair bit in hand come the line; chased leader, led over 2f out, asserted only final 100 yd; it was the Prix du Cadran following this in that stellar 2022 campaign and he'd be a worthy favourite in either that or the Long Distance Cup at Ascot next time having very much cemented himself atop the staying division again this year.

VAUBAN (FR) ran at least as well in defeat as when winning at York the previous month, the relative emphasis on speed at the trip here suiting him as well as it had there, though he never seriously threatened one with stronger form who was ridden closer to the pace; held up, took keen hold, headway 2f out, took second final 100 yds, kept on, no impression on winner.

GIAVELLOTTO (IRE) had the form to trouble Kyprios and unsurprisingly went through the race better than rival but lacked the required turn of foot after 10 weeks off, the winner having been ridden closer to the pace, Giavellotto probably running just respectably on the balance of his form this season; mid-division, travelled best, headway over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, one paced.

THE EUPHRATES has proved consistent this season while having his limitations in this sort of grade exposed, though showed seemingly improved form here having been allowed the run of the race, by no means certain to reproduce it next time; soon led, headed over 2f out, weakened only final 100 yds.

NASTARIA ran creditably on the balance of his form in Germany but he does most of his running at listed level and ultimately found this far too competitive; mid-division, outpaced from 3f out, dropped away gradually.

WALDADLER (GER) didn't appear to hold anything close to level of form to warrant being given a chance in a race such as this, and was readily left behind once the pace lifted; raced off the pace, raced freely, brief headway over 4f out, weakened over 2f out.
