is improving in leaps and bounds, upstaging a pair of better fancied stable companions to follow in the hoofprints of her sister, Rhododendron, who won this race last year; made running, shaken up 2f out, quickened clear 1f out, kept up to work, hands-and-heels ride; an exciting prospect, she will be the one to beat in the Moyglare back here next month.

finished further behind Magical than she had in a maiden last time but this represents a big step forward in form terms, and shaped well to boot; held up, going well when forced wide over 1f out, ran on late, never nearer; banker for a maiden at the very least.

seemingly passed over by Ryan Moore, was strong in the betting after 9 weeks off, but couldn't repeat her Ascot heroics, the softer ground an obvious excuse; mid-division, ridden under 2f out, edged right, not quicken.

A cracking renewal of what is always an informative Group 2, the market suggesting it was a match between September and Happily, but it was the apparent third string who came out on top, Magical enjoying the run of things from the front but no denying that she was the best on the day, Donnacha O'Brien not needing to pick up his stick.

MAGICAL (IRE) is improving in leaps and bounds, upstaging a pair of better fancied stable companions to follow in the hoofprints of her sister, Rhododendron, who won this race last year; made running, shaken up 2f out, quickened clear 1f out, kept up to work, hands-and-heels ride; an exciting prospect, she will be the one to beat in the Moyglare back here next month.
