confirmed the promise of his Carlisle effort, becoming the third winner in as many days to come from that race, having no trouble with the longer trip and even value extra over the result, one for the shortlist again next time; never far away, travelled well, not fluent first, untidy fifteenth, went second 5 out, led after 4 out, joined briefly early in straight, drew clear between last 2, idled briefly, ridden out.

ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before but was left with too much ground to make up on the unexposed winner ridden as he was trying an extreme distance for the first time; held up, travelled smoothly, headway 4 out, went third 3 out, ridden after next, took second run-in, stayed on, no impression on winner.

stepped up on the form he showed when successful last time, doing enough to confirm his stamina for the trip and more races still to be won with him before the end of the season; mid-division, headway after 4 out, disputed lead briefly early in straight, every chance still 2 out, left behind by winner approaching last, stayed on again final 1f.

wasn't in the same form as last time, a mixed round of jumping and probable lack of stamina both reasons why; raced off the pace, not always fluent, weakened 3 out, pulled up before last.

Just one ran from a mark higher than 116 this year but there are still reasons to be positive about the form, a couple of last-time-out winners following home an unexposed type who had a bit in hand; the field grouped up for a time on the second circuit.

TRACK AND TRACE (IRE) confirmed the promise of his Carlisle effort, becoming the third winner in as many days to come from that race, having no trouble with the longer trip and even value extra over the result, one for the shortlist again next time; never far away, travelled well, not fluent first, untidy fifteenth, went second 5 out, led after 4 out, joined briefly early in straight, drew clear between last 2, idled briefly, ridden out.

CRIXUS'S ESCAPE (IRE) ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before but was left with too much ground to make up on the unexposed winner ridden as he was trying an extreme distance for the first time; held up, travelled smoothly, headway 4 out, went third 3 out, ridden after next, took second run-in, stayed on, no impression on winner.

COURT AT SLIP (IRE) stepped up on the form he showed when successful last time, doing enough to confirm his stamina for the trip and more races still to be won with him before the end of the season; mid-division, headway after 4 out, disputed lead briefly early in straight, every chance still 2 out, left behind by winner approaching last, stayed on again final 1f.

NO CRUISE YET ran just respectably back in blinkers for the first time in a long time; pressed leader, led briefly twelfth, hampered nineteenth, lost second 5 out, dropped away gradually straight.

BUSHYPARK (IRE) who won this race last year and arrived on the back of a hurdling success, ran below form, pestered in front and never really jumping/travelling with the vigour that characterises his best performances; led, headed briefly twelfth, jumped right nineteenth, headed before straight, weakened 3 out.

SHADOWS IN THE SKY (IRE) wasn't in the same form as last time, a mixed round of jumping and probable lack of stamina both reasons why; raced off the pace, not always fluent, weakened 3 out, pulled up before last.

GLITTERING LOVE (IRE) ran poorly, on the retreat even before a couple of errors in the back straight on the final circuit; mid-division, lost place when not fluent seventeenth, bad mistake nineteenth, behind when pulled up before 3 out.

LADRONNE (FR) possibly failed to stay but was off the bridle soon enough not to be given a pass all the same, even if he is the sort to bounce back quickly; soon steadied, not fluent fourth, crept closer seventeenth, weakened before 3 out, pulled up before last.
