O'BRIEN AND MOORE TAKE TOP TRAINER AND JOCKEY TITLESQueen Anne Stakes: French raider looks the value
Posted in: Royal Ascot Tips
The Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot looks open at this stage, with several towards the head of the betting having a choice of other engagements during the week. That includes the ante-post favourite Rhododendron, who proved better than ever dropped back to a mile when winning the Lockinge Stakes last time.
#RUKMomentOfTheDay: Rhododendron becomes only the third ever Irish-trained winner of the @AlShaqab Lockinge Stakes @NewburyRacing.

Benbatl proved better than ever winning three times at Meydan earlier this year, including the Dubai Turf, but given he won the Hampton Court Stakes at the Royal Meeting last season, he could well take in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes instead.
You can also pick holes in Lightning Spear, Lancaster Bomber and Thunder Snow at the prices, too, and it could be worth chancing the French challenger Recoletos, who has looked an improved performer in both of his starts this season.
Recoletos was successful four times in 2017, including in the Prix du Prince d'Orange at Maisons-Laffitte, and finished a creditable eight and a quarter lengths fourth to Cracksman in the Champion Stakes at this course on his final outing that year. He has won both of his starts so far this year, though, making the breakthrough at Group 1 level when winning the Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp last time by one and three quarter lengths from Almodovar, and connections stated post-race that the Queen Anne would be his next target; he remains relatively unexposed at a mile and could yet have more to offer.

There doesn’t appear to be any standout performer in the Queen Anne this year and, given the race will likely cut up considering how many hold multiple entries, Recoletos has the scope to trade much shorter than the 10/1 on offer come race day, so he is put forward as an each-way play.
Recommendation:
Back Recoletos each-way at 10/1 in the Queen Anne Stakes on Tuesday June 19
