Duke of Cambridge Stakes
15:40 Royal Ascot, Tuesday

1. Grande Dame (John & Thady Gosden/ Jamie Spencer)

Late-maturing sort who won a listed race at Sandown last summer before ending the campaign with a fine third in the Sun Chariot at Newmarket. She's still fairly low-mileage and it would be no surprise if she does better again as a four-year-old.

2. Honey Girl (Joseph O'Brien/ Dylan Browne McMonagle)

Useful maiden for Henry de Bromhead last season and has found some improvement since joining Joseph O'Brien, supplementing her seven-furlong Curragh maiden win with a Group 3 victory over that course and distance in May. Was a bit disappointing in the Lanwades Stud Stakes there last time and others make slightly more appeal overall.

3. Internationalangel (Jane Chapple-Hyam/ Hollie Doyle)

Newcastle maiden winner last season who filled the runner-up position in Group 3s at Goodwood and Deauville. Not quite at her best in Dubai over the winter and she'd need a career best to score in this company.

4. Jumbly (Joseph O'Brien/ Ryan Moore)

Won the Valiant Stakes on the round course here on her final start for Harry & Roger Charlton and, having changed hands for 1,250,000 guineas, returned from a 10-month absence with a really encouraging second in the Lanwades Stud Stakes at the Curragh last month. Top of the shortlist.

5. Lightship (Kevin Philippart de Foy/ Daniel Muscutt)

Progressed well on the all-weather early this year, winning two mile handicaps at Kempton before producing a much-improved effort in second in a listed race in April. Seemed unsuited by heavy ground returned to turf at Goodwood last time but this looks a difficult ask even if under more suitable conditions.

6. Potapova (Sir Michael Stoute/ Richard Kingscote)

Won the Group 3 Atalanta Stakes at Sandown last August. Found to have irregular heartbeat when pulled up on her reappearance and wasn't quite at her best when fifth to Prosperous Voyage in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom earlier this month, so others make more appeal.

7. Prosperous Voyage (Ralph Beckett/ Frankie Dettori)

Narrow second in the 1000 Guineas last term and got back on the up when landing the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes in July. Was better than the margin indicates when winning the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom earlier this month, beating Random Harvest by three-quarters of a length. Leading player.

8. Queen Aminatu (William Haggas/ Tom Marquand)

Was a listed winner at Lingfield and Deauville last year before completing the hat-trick with a win in the Fillies and Mares Championships on AW Finals Day at Newcastle in April. Probably found the test of speed against her when third in the Chartwell Fillies' Stakes last time and holds place claims with circumstances here likely to be more favourable.

9. Random Harvest (Ed Walker/ Saffie Osborne)

Progressive last season, culminating in a Group 3 victory at Milan. Even better form when second to Prosperous Voyage in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom earlier this month, but another step forward is needed to turn the tables with that rival.

10. Rogue Millennium (Tom Clover/ Daniel Tudhope)

Won a listed race last season and has improved further this term, finishing third in a Longchamp Group 3 before coming home a close second to Free Wind in the Middleton Stakes at York last month. Unraced over this shorter trip, though.

Timeform's Analyst Verdict:

JUMBLY is very much bred to progress with age, and having won in Group company on the round course here last term, she's taken to build on a highly encouraging return at the Curragh and come out on top. Prosperous Voyage was back to winning ways at Epsom last time and sets a very high standard on the form of last season's Falmouth win, whilst Grande Dame appeals as another who can have a productive season and is given plenty of respect on her return.

1. Jumbly
2. Prosperous Voyage
3. Grande Dame
