Moore, who has won the award for six of the last seven years, has ridden two winners so far, starting with Thomas Hobson in Tuesday’s Ascot Stakes who was an impressive winner for jumps trainer Willie Mullins.
Moore said: "I felt it was a strong pace and let Thomas Hobson warm in to it. At Swinley Bottom they were slowing down every step of the way and it was about giving him a clear run at that stage. He has won very easily.
"Turning in I was thinking, 'just get a clear run and he'll win from here'. Like all Willie's horses, he stays very well and is very fit."
Moore’s second win came on the Aidan O’Brien-trained Highland Reel who repelled all challengers to win the feature race on day two, the Prince of Wales’s Stakes.
He explained: "Highland Reel has a marvellous attitude, like so many of these Galileos. They were the first three there [second-placed Decorated Knight and Ulysses, third, are both sired by Galileo as well].
"Highland Reel has been everywhere and keeps coming back. It was a tough performance at Epsom [to win the Coronation Cup] and he has come back after not that long a break. I'd say it was probably a career-best from him today.”
Moore has also ridden two horses to finish second, and the same number of thirds.
Meanwhile, American trainer Wesley Ward continued his tradition of saddling winners at the Royal Meeting.
A winner of the Queen Mary Stakes 12 months ago, Lady Aurelia returned to her scintillating best when running out a clear winner of Tuesday’s King’s Stand Stakes.
Ward said: "That was awesome. Lady Aurelia is a very special filly.
"You never know [what will happen]. This is a Group One with some of the fastest horses in the world, and to duplicate what she did last year, she is a once in a lifetime horse.
"She loves it over here. We look forward to a really big summer and then the Breeders' Cup. The owners are so excited. It is wonderful for American racing."
Though a less high-profile winner, Ward was also delighted with the winning performance of Con Te Partiro who foiled the gamble on Rain Goddess in the Sandringham Stakes on Wednesday.
Commenting on the ride of winning jockey Jamie Spencer, Ward said: "I was cursing that poor Jamie Spencer all through the first part of the race, wondering what he was doing. I can't tell you all the dirty names I was calling him, but I was pleased with him at the end. He sure did have the magic at the end. It was a fantastic ride. He did it all on his own, no instructions, he took upon himself to do that. That was crazy.
"She [Con Te Partiro]'s got some antics to her and I thought he'd be the right man for the job, and he was. He worked her the other day, and I told him her running style is to come from behind.
"I'll talk it over with the owners and see what they want to do next, but I'm really excited - she was unbelievable."
Ward has also saddled one runner-up so far this week, two less than Aidan O’Brien who has hit the frame on six occasions, though he has only saddled one winner so far. O'Brien has won the award for five of the last seven years.
