O'BRIEN AND MOORE TAKE TOP TRAINER AND JOCKEY TITLESHardwicke Stakes: Group 1 plan for Telescope after Hardwicke defence at Royal Ascot

Harry Herbert, racing manger to Telescope’s owners Highclere, spoke to At The Races on Thursday and confirmed that Sir Michael Stoute’s five-year-old was fully on track for his seasonal plan, which next involves returning to Royal Ascot for the Hardwicke Stakes.
Telescope stepped up on his disappointing reappearance run in listed company at Newbury earlier this month and confirmed himself as good as ever, winning impressively by six lengths. His next target after Royal Ascot could again be in the King George at the same venue in July, where only the brilliant Taghrooda kept him from fulfilling his Group 1 promise last year.
Telescope lies at the head of the market for the Hardwicke and is as short as evens with the bookmakers. He is top on Timeform Ratings of those likely to run, with Luca Cumani’s Postponed with 3lb to find on provisional Ratings and John Gosden’s Eagle Top 4lb behind the market leader.
Eagle Top is in action tonight in the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard at Sandown and a good performance could cause a shake-up of the Hardwicke market, for which he is a general 6/1 shot at present.
