O'BRIEN AND MOORE TAKE TOP TRAINER AND JOCKEY TITLESCommonwealth Cup 2016: Quiet Reflection stakes her claim

Trained by Karl Burke to win the listed Rosebery Stakes at Ayr and Group 3 Cornwalis Stakes at Newmarket last term, Quiet Reflection came into Saturday’s Group 2 contest on the back of a reappearance win at Chantilly in April.
Ridden by Dougie Costello on Saturday, she effortlessly made up ground from the rear and stormed clear for a decisive three and three quarter length success from Donjuan Triumphant, with favourite Gifted Master back in third.
“She’s got a fantastic turn of foot - that’s the key piece of her armoury,” Burke explained on Racing UK. “On the basis of that you would have to be sticking to your own age group and six furlongs [at Ascot].
“I never really thought she would not stay six, but it’s all very well me thinking it, she had to prove it, and I think she has conclusively today.
“I thought she was little bit more on edge walking around the paddock than I’ve ever seen her before. Not boiling over or anything like that, but usually she’s very laidback. But Dougie said she was grand once she was away.”
Costello added: "She has instant speed, the fastest I've sat on."
Quiet Reflection has now joined the Wesley Ward-trained Acapulco – winner of the Queen Mary at last season’s Royal Ascot – at the top of the betting for the six furlong contest, scheduled to take place on the penultimate day of the meeting.
