VELVET SAMSON’s recent form figures don’t inspire a great deal of confidence, yet on closer inspection he’s had his efforts interrupted by trouble-in-running and we’re hopeful of a change of luck. A comfortable winner over C&D in 29.50 late last month, this afternoon’s contest is far from a strong one and he’s a player with anything like a clear run.

NEWINN BUZZ (Trap 5) in the 20:13 at Sheffield

NEWINN BUZZ was always going to find it an uphill struggle to feature on account of a missed break when finishing sixth at Monmore recently. Yet Barrie Draper’s charge had previously looked a dog to keep on side with some impressive C&D performances. His draw in orange may well play to his strengths given he’s housed outside four railers and we’re hopeful he can bounce back.

JOELLA REGGIE (Trap 4) in the 21:14 at Sheffield

JOELLA REGGIE arrives well and truly at the top of his game and is fancied to continue the good work. Barrie Draper’s charge has landed two of his last three starts from the red jacket, yet he’s equally as effective when operating from the black jacket (4-8) and he will prove a tough nut to crack if breaking as efficiently as he can.
