Timeform provide a trio of selections from Sheffield in search of winners on Tuesday.
Peekaboo Joan (Trap 5) in the 18:22 at Sheffield
PEEKABOO JOAN (Trap 5, 18.22) didn’t need to be at her best to end a losing run earlier this month and, whilst she needs to shrug off a lesser effort last time, we’re hopeful she can. Drawn between a pair of slow starters, the daughter of Candlelight King is now adequately out of season and in a race lacking depth, she can trap fast and prove a tough nut to crack.
Beau Jack (Trap 6) in the 18:55 at Sheffield
BEAU JACK (Trap 6, 18.55) has made a fine start to his career for the Lisa Stephenson camp, confirming the promise of his exploits in sprint company with a comfortable success in A5 grade 2 starts back. His latest second in this grade needed marking up on account of trouble-in-running and, with further progress highly likely, he can come out on top from what looks a perfect draw in trap 6.
Derrygrath Joe (Trap 1) in the 19:57 at Sheffield
DERRYGRATH JOE (Trap 1, 19.57) is proving nothing short of a model of consistency, winning 3 times since the turn of the year and filling the runners-up spot on each of his last 3 starts. In truth there is probably a legitimate argument that the standard 500 metre distance is at the limit of his stamina, therefore the slight drop back to 480 metres rates a likely plus, and it will come as no surprise to see him bang on the money again.
