Spartacus Flash (Trap 4, 19.41) was steadily progressive in trials his best effort coming when runner-up behind a subsequent winner in a higher grade on his final qualifying trial.  Catching the eye on competitive debut, he found a bump on the run-in halting his progress having looked a threat. A March 19 pup he’s open to any amount of improvement moving forward and is fancied to land a weak D4 contest this evening.

Nairobi (Trap 3) - 20.52 Newcastle

NAIROBI (Trap 3, 20.52) was collared late on the day by the re-opposing Droopys Bacon when the pair met on RPGTV 7 days ago. The former going clear only to find the latter getting a dream run on the inside to score by ¾ length. However, he may not find his passage so clear operating from the blue jacket tonight and Nairobi rates the clear early leader, so we’re siding with the son of Ballymac Vic to emerge victorious on this occasion.

Pennys Baby (Trap 6) - 21:34 Sheffield

Sheffield’s penultimate race at 21.34 looks a tight knit affair on paper but on the draw PENNYS BABY (Trap 6) looks to hold sound claims. Chris Aker’s charge, operating as the sole wide seed should find plenty of racing room from the striped jacket and posted a slick 16.07 when landing a C&D event in June, so all looks set fair for a big run.
